On September 11, 2013, the Singaporean primary and secondary school teachers’ delegation visited the College of Education, Zhejiang University. On behalf of our college, Yu Kehong, professor and vice dean, welcomed the delegation with open arms and provided them with a brief overview of our college, subject settings and education, and other areas, especially discussing education for doctoral admission policies.
    At the meeting, both sides discussed Chinese teachers’ training for primary and secondary schools during the Chinese 12th Five-Year Plan （2011-2015） and profoundly expanded communication about training qualifications and curriculum settings, training quality evaluation systems, primary and secondary school teachers’ assessment systems, and the learning pressures primary and secondary schools and students face.
    The excellent teachers in various subjects in the delegation from Singapore’s national institute consider the College of Education at Zhejiang University as an important station for observation and learning for Singaporean overseas visits. The delegation had a very productive time understanding the Chinese education system, Chinese education reform and its challenges and current situation, and primary and secondary teachers’ quality training, etc.
