The UNESCO Chairs Program is the important approach for UNESCO to promote the exchange of experience and knowledge between universities and other higher education institutions and to promote capacity building. In 2008, Zhejiang University formally submitted an application to Chinese National Commission for UNESCO to establish a chair for entrepreneurship education. In February 2010, after the evaluation and review of the application, UNESCO officially approved the establishment of the UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship Education at Zhejiang University, which is the only one UNESCO Chair in entrepreneurship in Asia and the Pacific region. Relying on the advantages of a comprehensive university, Zhejiang University actively carries out related activities on a global scale to promote research and talent training in the field of entrepreneurship education, curriculum development, information platform construction, regional cooperation and other activities, and strives to build it into the "flagship" of entrepreneurship education in Asia, accelerate the pace of world-class discipline construction, and increase international influence and contribution.
Prof. XU Xiaozhou is the holder of UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurial Education at Zhejiang University.
