College of Education of Zhejiang University held a special ceremony to christen the new College building On May 18,2020,after the College’s relocation in ZJU’s Zijingang Campus in late April，which is a Chinese tradition. The College leadership, faculty and staff, students, representatives of alumni and entrepreneurs attended the ceremony to celebrate this historic moment in the development of the College. The ceremony was presided over by WU Juhui, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the College.

 “An appropriate building with comfortable environment and advanced facilities is increasingly important to the development of a college.” Professor GU Jianmin, Dean of the College, delivered the opening speech. He further reviewed the more than 90 years’ history of the College that honored by the unremitting pursuit and selfless dedication of generations of academics and scholars in the fields of education and sports science. In the meanwhile, Dean GU expressed sincere gratitude to the constant concern and support from the College staff and students, the University and people from all walks of life. “At this important historical juncture of Year 2020, we shall stand hand in hand, work hard to compose a new chapter and create refulgence once more.”

Professor TIAN Zhengping, Senior Professor of Liberal Arts of Zhejiang University, and the first dean of new ZJU’s College of Education from 1999 to 2005, made a special address. “The relocation from Xixi Campus to Zijingang Campus is a great event in the development of the College. At this new location, I am looking forward to more achievements which worth all of us to fight for.”

Ms. WEI Ya, a global-good-thing-recommendation officer and the No.1 video host of Taobao(a popular online shopping retail platform in China), and Hangzhou Encounter Information Technology Service Company, respectively donated relevant supplies to help the College to do epidemic prevention and control.

Students majoring in martial arts and artistic gymnastics performed lion dance and aerobics dance in their own way to celebrate the event as well.

Senior Professor TIAN Zhengping and LIU Haifeng, Dean Gu Jianmin and Secretary WU Juhui, joined hands to open the door of the new building, marking that the new building was officially put into use.
