On June 9, World Leisure Center of Excellence at Zhejiang University (WLCE-ZJU) celebrated the establishment of its“ Innovation Base” in Suichang, Zhejiang Province. Mr. Wu Juhui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Education at ZJU, attended the ceremony and presented a plaque to the Suichang County Government, signifying the official settlement of WLCE-ZJU's Innovation Base. This base will enable WLCE-ZJU to exert its influence in Zhejiang and promote the high-quality development of the leisure industry.

On the same day, WLCE-ZJU won the “Outstanding Contributor Award” of WLO. Prof. Joanne Schroeder, Chair of WLO, attended the award ceremony and presented the award to Prof. Zhou Lijun, Director of WLCE-ZJU.

Prof. Joanne Schroeder commented, WLCE-ZJU has promoted the development of leisure industry in China and abroad, and has made outstanding contributions to the global leisure industry. It is worth mentioning that WLCE-ZJU is the first among the seven major leisure centers of excellence worldwide to receive this prestigious recognition.

Since its foundation in 2018, WLCE-ZJU has actively utilized its international platform resources to continuously empower the development of leisure industry in China and abroad, and has achieved fruitful results. The successful establishment of the Innovation Base of WLCE-ZJU is a proof that it exerts its intellectual advantages to serve local development. In the meantime, the “Outstanding Contributor Award” issued by World Leisure Organization is definitely a full recognition to WLCE-ZJU.
